Stainless Steel & Clad Base at University of Buffalo

Our team at Tri Tech, Inc. manufactured this custom rail for the University of Buffalo's Education Opportunity Center in Buffalo, NY. The railing base is clad in stainless steel with a #6 directional architectural finish. The panels are constructed of laminated tempered glass which is made up of pacific blue and clear outer panels with an arctic snow interlayer. Glass panels are an ideal way to address safety issues while adding an eye-catching architectural element to any design. Panels can be custom designed to fit casual or formal settings. A stainless steel assist rail was included in the railing system for functionality.

For this project, the customer provided the loading requirements and structural specifications to our engineering and fabrication department. We specialize in the design and fabrication of custom rails and can create designs based on a variety of needs and loading conditions. The railing was welded to ASTM, AAMA, and AWS standards by certified welders and assembled in lengths not exceeding 20'. Fabricated components underwent dimensional inspection to verify that all tolerances, which measured as tight as ±0.0625", were met. We also performed installation of the railing at the customer's facility.
